Hundreds In Overseas By An Indian Batsman In One-Day Internationals

India’s one-day international lineup has featured numerous high-quality batters during many tournaments. It’s time to have a look at the Indian hitters who, according to ICC player rankings, have the most hundreds made by an Indian outside of India in ODIs.

  • Suresh Raina –

Suresh Raina’s role as a batter for the Indian one-day international squad was very important, and he was a crucial component in the batting order. Throughout his career, he encountered a great number of significant obstacles. His encounters with MS Dhoni have been the topic of discussion for a significant number of people. Even if he hasn’t always been successful while playing ODIs outside of India, he’s still managed to make a lot of hundreds when the matches were being played in other countries. The goal he scored against Zimbabwe at the World Cup in 2015 is perhaps the one that stands out the most among all of his numerous goals. Left-handed batsman from India who went under the name Yuvraj Singh. His stroke-filled batting along with a useful option to spin the ball with his left arm ensured that India had a well-rounded ODI squad. He has reached the century mark in a few one-day internationals outside of India. Yuvraj Singh has reached the century mark in one-day internationals seven times outside of India.

  • Gautam Gambhir –

Batting in the top order with his left hand, Gautam Gambhir was a left-handed player. His successes were typically overshadowed by India’s powerful batting line-up, which was a shame because he was quite good. On the other hand, he had a reputation for pulling through in difficult circumstances. He was a reliable performer on the international stage. Outside of India, Gautam Gambhir has made seven centuries in one-day internationals.

  • Virender Sehwag –

Virender Sehwag was a cricketer who opened the innings and was noted for his powerful hitting. His style of batting made a significant impact, but it didn’t allow for many opportunities to rack up long scores. Despite this, he amassed a large number of centuries, most of which were scored outside of India. His score of 175 against Bangladesh in the opening match of the 2011 World Cup is still his greatest in a one-day international competition outside of India. Sehwag has hit ten century in ODIs outside of India.

  • Shikhar Dhawan –

In recent years, one of the best openers for an ODI team anywhere in the globe has been Shikhar Dhawan of India. He is an essential cog in the machine that is the Indian batting order. It is well recognized that he can perform exceptionally well under pressure, particularly in ICC One-Day International events. Shikhar Dhawan has scored 12 centuries in ODI matches that took place outside of India.

It’s possible that Rohit Sharma will be included in India’s ODI XI of all-time greats. He has shattered several records in one-day internationals during the course of his career (ODI). Sharma often makes spectacular catches or runs. Outside of India, he has hit five century in an one World Cup tournament in 2019 and two big runs against Australia in One-Day Internationals (ODIs). As of now, Rohit Sharma has 18 hundreds in ODIs that have taken place in countries other than his own country of India.

  • Sourav Ganguly –

Sourav Ganguly was the captain of the Indian team at one point in time. He once led the team. In 2003, he led his squad to the final of the World Cup. The results of Ganguly’s matches played in countries other than India were favorable. In 2003, when the World Cup was hosted in South Africa, he scored a century in the knockout stages of the competition. When he hit 183 against Sri Lanka in the 1999 World Cup in England, it was not only the greatest score he had ever achieved but also the first time he had ever played outside of India. There have been 18 one-day international matches played outside of India where Sourav Ganguly has scored a century.

  • Virat Kohli –

Virat Kohli has established himself as an excellent batsman for India across all three formats of the game. He has excelled in all of them. He has been the most prominent candidate for the role of the player who will be the first to surpass Sachin’s total of 100 international hundreds. Sachin is the current holder of the record. Outside of India, he has scored several huge centuries, including 183 against Pakistan, 133 against Sri Lanka, and so on. These are just a few examples of the centuries he has scored. Virat Kohli has hit 24 hundred in one-day internationals for India’s team whilst playing for other countries.

  • Sachin Tendulkar –

It is generally agreed upon that Sachin Tendulkar is one of the most accomplished batsmen in the history of One-Day Internationals. He has racked up a substantial number of runs and hundreds across all of the available formats. Tendulkar is the only player in ODI history to have scored more than half of his century outside of India, making him the only player to ever accomplish this feat. In virtually all of the one-day internationals that he has participated in, he has scored hundreds of runs for his various countries. Sachin Tendulkar has scored a total of 29 hundred in one-day international competitions that took place outside of India.
